Thailand Trip Part 1 - Arriving in Bangkok

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog and welcome anyone that just stumble upon it. In this part of the blog, I will be covering the first part of my Thailand trip in Bangkok. Hopefully this will be a three part series that covers some of interesting findings that I encounter.

So let's begin....

I arrived in Bangkok about 10pm local time, we were picked by our tour leader from THAINTRO. Thaintro are an independently own tour group that is generally for the younger audiences, which include a lot of culture experiencing and a lot of night life in Thailand. Despise my lack of interest in night life, I too had a pleasant time to share a drink or two with the group. The group consists of many from all over the world. In my group, there plenty from America, Australian,Britain and even a small group from Brazil.

Anyway this blog isn't to advertise the group, so gets to the sceneries and things I saw in Bangkok. But I do want to shout out to Sara and Liam, who was the best group leader that I have had.

Apparently the time we arrived was just so happened to be the King's Birthday, and a week of celebration was just the beginning. And as the tradition, almost every street was decorated beautifully with the lights and decorations. Another thing that I learnt was every day during that week would have a different colour to represent the celebration of the King's Birthday.

On the same night that we arrived, we were immediately taken in by the tour to visit the SKY HIGH TOWER, and this was the view that I saw at the top.

When we came back from the Sky high tower tour, we took some time to walk around a bit around. To check out what might there to eat maybe?

The next morning, we took sometime off to look around for breakfast before our tour group starts for the day.

After walking around a bit, we found this nice little noodle soup place. The soup was fresh and dense, the meat was tender and juicy, even back home it hard to find a noodle soup like this.

That same night we went out as a group to experience the night life in Bangkok, at the most busy street in Bangkok, Kaohsan Road.

The next day, I started the day with a street Tom yum soup and a fresh water melon juice. We took a boat ride around the Bangkok River and walk around to the harbour was very interesting.

After the boat ride, we has some time off to have more street BBQ, as dodgy as it maybe, they were delicious. Fruits were fresh and sweet, the calamari was juicy and tender.

Next stop was a visit to a temple. The bowls here represents one wishes to Budda, and there were a lot.

I thought this was a great idea, a guide to enjoy Bangkok.

This one and half kilometre long street seriously sells everything, it has anything that you may need or never ever need.

Casually taking a nap on the side of the river, not dangerous at all!!

And that concluded our time in Bangkok, it was great time that I had. The street foods are great, they may seem dodgy and dirty, but they taste amazing and authentic.

The next part of the blog will begin with a over night train ride to Koh Phangan.
